Las Islas Marietas (Marietas Islands) are 15 to 20 minutes from Punta de Mita. Accessible only by boat, crystal clear waters, colorful fish and 27 bird species are found here, like el pez payaso (Clown Fish) or the Bugui bird.

There is a beach, caves and a rock structure with the shape of an elephant. There is also the cave of love where as the saying says “where two go in and three come out and it’s prohibited to enter alone”.
